My Current Obsessions

So, one of my current obsessions is makeup.  Don't get me wrong, I've loved makeup for a very long time, I've used makeup for a very long time.  I just finally decided to do more, um, research.  I'm usually all in once I start something.  I research and find out everything I can about it.  Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it may only be for a short while.  But I always do my "research" first.

This time around it started with my hair stylist (which leads me to another small obsession).  She told me about this thing called Ipsy, a monthly beauty subscription service. So, I immediately went home and looked it up.  It let me to this website called My Subscription Addiction.  Holy Cow!  There are millions of these type of things out there!  (Ok, I may be exaggerating a little, but there are a lot!)  This was about a month before Christmas so I started making my list of what I wanted to ask for.  I made sure to find a least one reasonably priced one for my husband also, after all that would make it more acceptable for me to get one, right?

So, I ended up getting Ipsy, Birchbox, Beauty Box 5, Walmart Beauty Box & Dollar Shave Club.  I told you I jump right in.  Each box is $10 or less and all come monthly, except for the Walmart box, which is seasonal.  I also got a month's box of Barkbox for my mom for a Christmas gift.  As I get the boxes I will show you what I got and review the products on the blog.

Now that I'm starting to get them I'm getting a better chance to experiment with makeup and try different brands that I probably would have never bought...which leads me to a third obsession, YouTube.  While I was doing my very important research I can across a bunch of unboxing videos.  I quickly realized how far behind the times I am with YouTube and how much information and interesting things are out there!

To summarize, I now watch a ton of videos about makeup, review, tutorials, hauls, etc. while opening my subscription boxes with fun new items; and I get to practice my new skills and earn points to purchase ones that I love.  I'm also finding that I'm moving over to some organizing/planning videos so that may just be the next obsession.
