Reviews - Eye Shadows

Hello everyone!
Here are a few quick reviews of some eye shadow & crayon products I've either received in my subscription boxes or purchased myself.  I love being able to try new things and if they come in boxes I don't feel so bad if I don't like them; and if purchase them myself I make sure to get brands I've heard of, things that come highly recommended and/or use coupons.

Nicka K New York eyelight crayon in Bronze.056oz
I received this product in my a Beauty Box 5.  I believe I received the full size.  This color is not normally one I would go for but I ended up liking it.  I have a mineral shadow in almost the same color and I use this for my bottom lash line.  It is a retractable crayon and I like having that so I don't clip it on the lid.  The crayon comes with a sharpener at the bottom that comes out so you can use it to make a sharper point for eye liner (or save it to use on other crayons!).  Overall I would say this product is a winner.  Would I have gone out and purchased it myself?  Probably not.  Mostly because I'm not very outgoing on trying new colors.  Also, I'm not sure this product is in stock at most stores and would need to be purchased online.  I like seeing my products in person before buying, I'm weird like that.  The cost of this at the Nicka website is $4.49 and it looks like there are 15 color options.

Coastal Scents eye shadow sample set 41
As you can probably tell, I don't get out too much when it comes to beauty products, but that is changing!  I had heard of Coastal Scents before but had not used the products.  I received this sample in my Beauty Box 5 as well, in a different box than the crayon.  I am very happy with these!  I loved the colors I received and they are very pigmented.  I use them quite often and will more than likely purchase a full palette in the near future.  This is only available online, which is kind of a bummer, but now that I know I will like the shadows I feel more comfortable about that.  They are very inexpensive and offer a range of colors.  Coastal Scents is the company that has the Revealed palette that you will hear some YouTubers talk about too.  My sample was worth $1.95 and a full palette is anywhere from $19.95 to $29.95, depending on which palette you would like.

Pacifica Eye Shadow in Ethereal .08oz
This sample came in my Ipsy bag, it was one of the items everyone received in the bag (2 colors were sent).  I had heard that Pacifica wasn't the best shadow, kind of cheap.  And I would agree at least as far as the packaging goes.  It's pretty cheap and could break easily.  Luckily mine was intact and when I used the product I found something that I like using as a brow bone highlight and for my inner corner highlight.  Even though it's a light color it is very pigmented.  This is not available in as a single shadow like the same received but you can purchase a 5 count palette at Target for $11.99.

L.A. Colors 3 color eyeshadow palette in Orchid
This was a purchase I made after watching a few Dollar Tree hauls on YouTube.  Jessica Murphy (jambeauty89) had gotten a ton of makeup for a $1 each!  It motivated me to get there and see what I could find.  I knew the Dollar Tree had makeup but I had always kind of bypassed it thinking it was some off brand or something.  Which it can be or it could be stuff that is being discontinued, etc.  But I didn't really think about the fact that brands I buy, such as Maybelline, could be there.  Unfortunately, my Dollar Tree does have a very limited selection, which I guess was good for my wallet.  I picked up this particular palette because it was one that Jessica had gotten and she seemed to like it so I thought I would try as well, especially for only $1.  I do like it.  There is some sprayover so that's annoying but the colors are fairly pigmented and go well with each other so you can use it for a full eye look.  It comes with a double ended sponge applicator but I just used my brushes.  If you don't have a Dollar Tree near you they have a list of retail locations on their website or you can purchase it online.

I'll stop at those 4 reviews for now.  I'm so glad I'm able to try some new items and have some new favorites in my makeup drawer.  I don't have a large collection of makeup but I'm working on it.  ;)
What kind of eye shadow is your favorite?  Do you still to a particular brand or a range of colors?  Have you tried any of the ones I reviewed?
